Mahmutlar is located about 15 km behind Alanya (direction Mersin) and is a district of Alanya.
Many foreigners live in Mahmutlar, among them many Germans. Mahmutlar lives mainly from tourism. A 5 km long beach with a large promenade, small beach stalls and many sports facilities offer a wide range of activities. On Tuesdays and Saturdays you can stroll through the local bazaar to buy fresh vegetables and fruit. Public transportation runs to and from Alanya every 10 minutes.
The distance to Antalya airport is about 140 km, to Alanya Gazipasa airport 30 km.
